Grand Mercure Basildene Manor has been rated one of the top boutique hotels and resorts in Australia and the wider South Pacific region thanks to reviews left on the Tripadvisor website by guests.
In this year’s Traveller’s Choice awards, the 19-apartment resort was once again ranked second in the Boutique property list for both Australia and the South Pacific region. Set on 14 acres of manicured, expansive gardens, the resort offers luxurious suites, complimentary Wi-Fi, an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis court, barbecue facilities, a fireside reading room and a conservatory.
The historically significant Margaret River property was originally constructed by the Willmott family as a private residence and farm in 1912 before being converted into a resort. It is renowned for its immense oak tree grown from an acorn sourced from the grounds of Buckingham Palace, and attentive touches like a pillow menu and gift of fresh-baked scones and local homemade jam to departing guests.
The resort boasts a five-star Tripadvisor rating from over 1,200 stays, with reviews praising the property’s loving restoration, its range of facilities, meticulous design and overall cleanliness.
